I wasn't too too impressed by them- I tried a few and they seemed pretty normal and not super educational. It is a great idea though and I can see room for improvement!! Oh yes-who are you, Malchior?

Malchior the Mage, are you a developer of said games? Were you involving in collecting the facts of any which sort? Are you an-ex McQ student? How did you come across this blog? If you answered no to the first three questions, could you reveal some things about you?

Well, anyway, just don't want any alien entities infiltrating this board unless they have explicit permission from moderator Ms. Watt. I am very cautious when it comes to internet, so don't be taken aback by any of this.

I tried the trading one and the dove one....I enjoyed them, but I have to say I was a bit dissapointed. They both have really good concepts, and really informative, but I found that they weren't as complex as I was expecting, and therefor might not really appeal to the average student. I think I t would appeal more to them if the info. was given out in smaller chunks and the game had more stages.

Instinct tells me so.

Also keep in mind that you should not expect these to be games that you would pay $50 for at the store. Programming isn't easy, even to do simple things like these. They can't be overly complicated because it would require too much to create them (and really, they are for the facts.) If they were large, it would prabably be too long of a wait for a download and thus your patience would run very thin. keep in mind too that these games deal with such matter that would make it difficult to put into a levelled game like Asteroids. (Fun! Everyone needs to play Asteroids... or not.)

The concert tonight was very good. The stage band play a very nice Jazzy piece that was great. The Jurassic Park theme could've been much worse.
Today was very fun at MCQ. Sappire, I couldn't get the garage band format to work on windows media, so you might not be able to play "British Invasion" on your computer.

Ooh! GarageBand format cannot work on Media Player! They are entireley different forms of electronic music files! Export to iTunes first and then it should work.

I had fun at teh concert although I didn't lauch my solo right and I think the band had a hard time keeping up with the conductor. So, I hope we sounded somewhat acceptable.

Q Squared: Is Q your favorite entity in Star Trek, and is TNG your favorite series? Or are you still Q-less on which to pick?

Yes, Q is my favourite entity in Star Trek, he is funny and very troublesome. TNG is my favourite series. What do you mean by Q-less?

I'm guessing he means clueless???!!! Maybe? Craig! Talk english!

Q is this almost omnipotent creature that appeared in Star Trek many times and gave the captains many troubles. Postman Craig, I don't understand your last question. By the way, "Q Squared" is a book of TNG series.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yes, I mean clueless and it's a question you don't have to answer, as it was more of a pun than anything else. Q-Less was an episode (season 3?) for TNG if I am correct. I suppose you have to like Q, not pecause of his pestering but the fact that he retains all of his other fine qualities.

Q-Less is the sixth episode for Deep Space Nine, season 1. Though they mentioned Captain Picard a great deal. Sapphire, we are talking about Star Trek (obvieously). You should watch that TV show...or never mind.

Oh, 'my bad. I forget which series Q episodes are from. Do you have the DVD collection? (I personally want the time travel one.) And Yes! Watch Star Trek! Even the Original Campy one! Yeah, it's cheesy, but there's some good episodes and often moral messages, too, like racism, humanity, and war.

No, I don't have the DVD collection, and DSN is pretty crappy. All they do is sit around a space station, there is no real advanture to it. (unless you count the Dominion War).
For moral messages:
"The need of many out weights the need of one." or, as Kirk said,
"The need of one out weights the need of many."

That was in the movies! I mean the actual show... okay forget the topic until I have some more proof at hand. And DS9 is very Melodramatic, and full of Bajoran Politics and Religion (neither of which anyone cared about anyway) but it is next worse to Enterprise just because of the Dominion war, Morn, Garak, and Quark. And Secret Agent Julian Bashir. And "Trials and Tribble-ations." Go Tribbles!

Here is a scale based on my opinion which you might consider before watching any Star Trek shows:
DSN < Enterprise < original < Voyager < TNG

Can we talk about harry potter instead??!! JK! Oh...I hav to try those prize winning games....I almost did today but all of a sudden my sister pulled me off the computer cuz she needed it and the other one was being used...

If you are going to watch Star Trek, watch TNG because it's probably the best. But here's my ranking of the series in *my* opinion (so don't trust this):

1) TOS
2) TNG
3) VOY
4) DS9
5) ENT

Harry Potter? Okay! The next movie comes out July 15 (I think) and that means sceen time for my favorite character, Sirius Black.

ON TOPIC, yes! please do try the games!

I thought the next movie comes out on July 13. Why haven't you tried the games yet??? It has been a long time. I think the fifth book will be the boringest because Harry Potter made a bunch of mistakes. He even threw things at the headmaster. Have anyone of you heard of the movie Eragon that came out last Friday? It was well animated.

Harry has issues.

Ron is a pointless character.

Sirius is Dead.

Dumbledore is dead.

Hey! Maybe we'll have a Hermione/Snape dynamic Duo to defeat the dardk lord in the seventh book (it's SUPPOSED to be Harry's quest, but becasue he's a jerk now we have better characters to use.) That would just be awesome... maybe there should be some fanfiction on this one.

Please specify the issues of Harry Potter. Ron is not all pointless, he is the centre of comedy in the story, and all good stories need one. "Hermone/Snape dynamic Duo"? Maybe not, since Harry is the one that the Dark Lord is after.

Harry needs anger management. He has too much angst and it's being used against him... fear leads to anger... anger leads to hate... hate leadsd to the dark side of magic!

Well so does everyone in the story! They all have got anger control problems. Hermone wouldn't speak to Ron for many days, and Ron was mad at Harry for putting his name in the Goblet of Fire.

Dec 20, 2006, 5:47:00 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well that's why I think Harry isn't a jerk because I have anger management problems too and I see nothing wrong with hating people from "the dark side". And I don't thunk my anger's ever going to make me an evil person. And once I get angry I get really angry though not really at school. I did explode while working in this group at school however today, and my group shouted at me back! All of them were boys that just annoy me verrrrrry much!

You can detest evil for what it is, but you should not let it out on things otherwise as it is unproductive. That's why they have anger control problems, and I think that saying "well everyone else does" is not a valid response because something being done en masse does not make that action correct. If people annoy you that much, the fact that you yelled at them only provokes them to do more nuances becasue they know you are giving them attention. A stern warning about how displeased you are and then ignorance of their actions proves to be effective.

Well then, what's your standard of correctness? What is right and what is wrong? Being angry is only a part of human nature. Harry grew up is such a harsh environment, what do you espect him to be?

Dec 21, 2006, 4:29:00 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Controlled in his anger. I'm not against it, I'm against how he deals with it. Instead of letting it out on friends, he can find more constructive ways of coming to reality and seign what he needs to do as opposed to being so rash adn arrogant. Of course, if this were the case, Harry would be more of a goodie-tow-shoes Superman than a character that is interesting to write about. So it's fine from a witing/reading perspective. But not from a real-world perspective.

I would like to see Harry tell people more about his anger and his secrets-he doesn't tell anyone anything and sometimes it drives me crazy!! I wonder what would have been different if he did tell Dumbeldore some of the things he knew, but I guess that would make him a goody-two shoes. So that brings me back to square one-maybe he should just stay as he is. And Ron is sooo not useless!!!!

Moral support and a few "good" ideas, but mostly wimpering and a "let's go home" attitude. I'm sorry, but IMHO (in my humble opinion,) when in book six they said a character would die, I had a gut feeling was going to be Dumbledore, but I had this hope that it would be Weasley. His brothers are way better characters, his parents are nice and we never see much of his sister, but he's not worth it.
